Kneseth Israel's 100th Anniversary GalaSunday, May 21, 2006 Devoted members of the 100th Anniversary Committee included: Co-Chairpersons Anna E. Greenberg and Dr. Laurence E. Block
(please click on thumbnail photos to view the larger photo) The gala began with a cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres in a large tent on the ground of the synagogue.... At about 6:30PM, a Tree Dedication Ceremony took place. A tree was planted in honor of all those who served as President of the synagogue throughout our 100 years. Past presidents that were present, or their descendants were each called up to shovel mulch near the tree after they were recognized....
The fun then moved indoors in the Reiter Auditorium for a delicious dinner. Tributes from leaders of Jewish organizations and the community were given to our synagogue. Then a 40 minute slideshow was presented that included narration and music from actors from the Colonial Players. The slide show summarized the history of Jewish Annapolis and how much Kneseth Israel meant to the community and their members.
The Grand Finale of the event was the unveiling of the 100th Anniversary window donated by Rita and Arnold Cohen
