Siskind Family Life Cycle Celebration

Sarah Siskind, daughter of Howard and Karen Siskind, participated in a ritual bath (mikveh) in accepting the Jewish religion.   In the photo with young Sarah from left to right are her paternal grandparents Eliot & Phyllis Siskind, her father and mother, and her maternal grandparents Richard & Diane Meade.   Afterwards, there was a celebration dinner at David Chu's China Bistro in Baltimore.

Above left, Dr. Bruce Friedman, who organizes all of the daily minyan services and makes phone calls for yahrzeit observances, receives an Artscoll publication as a token of appreciation from Rabbi Moshe Weisblum.  At right, Annapolis native Anna Eisenstein Greenberg makes a presentation for the 100th Anniversary Celebration.  On her right is a reprint of a September 13, 1906 edition of the Annapolis Evening Capital with an article titled "The Jew in Annapolis:  A Leading Factor in Commercial Life of the City".

Jewish Music Heritage Project Boys & Men's Choir Concert

The Jewish Music Heritage Project hosted their 2nd annual concert at Beth Jacob Synagogue in Baltimore.  The choir sang a variety of great sacred prayers set to the classical liturgy of the Eastern European Synagogue.  It is the only organization of it's kind in the world (for more information, visit their Web site at www.jmhp.org).  Our own Rabbi Moshe Weisblum and his two youngest sons Meir and Natan performed in the choir, each getting solos or duets.

Purim Megillah Reading

About 100 people attended the reading of the Megillah Esther on Purim on Saturday night, March 3.  The spirit of celebration was alive and well, as people enjoyed the mitzvah of hearing the megillah being read.  For a complete collection of photos from the evening, please check out the Purim 2007 photo page.
